Wikipedia is not a German to English dictionary which is what this article is. The term "Bandsalat" is not in ordinary usage in the English language so this article is inappropriate for the English Wikipedia. The only substantive content relating to untangling the "tangle" with a pencil eraser and the associated image could be moved into the cassette tape article if some editor felt it was not undue. - Redirect to Cassette_tape#Flaws, where it is mentioned. We should keep in mind the cautions of WP:RFOREIGN, but I think the term is well-known enough among cassette tape enthusiasts that this is OK as a redirect as a plausible search term. "Well-known enough" is a judgment call and deletion could be reasonably recommended, too. Probably tape salad should have the same redirect target. --

06:43, 9 November 2019 (UTC) - Redirect I more or less agree with the above. Expand Cassette_tape#Flaws to better describe "tape salad" with an image. Redirect "tape salad" there but Bandsalat need not be mentioned nor redirected. Tom94022 (talk) 07:23, 9 November 2019 (UTC)

- Keep I originally started this article because I heard the term used in a podcast and when I went to go look it up the only definition I could find was the German article. It's apparently been in use in the industry for a while. The_stuart (talk) 16:46, 16 November 2019 (UTC)
- There is no evidence of any usage at all in the English speaking industry. Tom94022 (talk) 19:52, 16 November 2019 (UTC)

- Redirect as suggested - seems to pop up just about sufficiently to expect that someone might actually look for the term [1]. And create tape salad as an equivalent redirect while we're at it. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 19:52, 18 November 2019 (UTC)
- Redirects are cheap and there seems to be just enough to suggest this is a plausible search term. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 01:44, 19 November 2019 (UTC)
